जीवों के पाचन तंत्र के अन्तिम छोर के द्वार (छेद) को गुदा (anus) कहते हैं। इसका कार्य मल निष्कासन का नियंत्रण करना है।

परिचय गुदा शरीर के पाचक नाल का अंतिम एक या डेढ़ इंच लंबा भाग है, जिसके वहि:छिद्र (external orifice) से मल शरीर से बाहर निकलता है। इस नली की रचना भी नाल के शेष भाग के ही समान है, अर्थात्‌ सबसे भीतर श्लैष्मिक स्तर और उसके बाहर वृत्ताकार और अनुदैर्ध्य मांससूत्रों के स्तर और उनके बाहर सीवीय कला। नीचे की ओर छिद्र पर श्लेष्मल कला और त्वचा का संगम (mucocutaneous Junction) है। यहां भीतर की अनुवृत्त मांससूत्रों की संख्या में विशेष वृद्धि से बाह्य गुदसंवरणी (external spincter) पेशी बन गई है, जिसके संकोच से गुदाछिद्र बंद हो जाता है। इससे ऊपर नली के ऊपरी भाग में भी एक ऐसी ही, किंतु इससे बड़ी संवरणी पेशी है जिसके वास्तव में दो भाग हैं। इन संवरणी पेशियों की क्रिया श्रोणितंत्रिकाओं के अधीन है।
