Medical terminology is basically derived from greek and latin. The greek terms are used for naming the diseases and structures.

  • Structures are basically nouns so they are directly taken from the greek and latin.
  • Processes and procedures are basically actions so they are verbs and they also come from greek and latin.
  • Position of the organs are defined using terms derived from greek and latin.
  • Adjectives are used to describe the appearance of internal and external organs of human body
  • Adverbs are used to define the disease pathology , timing , manner along with the surgical procedures.
