Scapula

Imagine a statue of a bull which has two horns.

Surfaces

First half face : Costal surface (anterior half face of goat statue) which is concave. Imagine as if it's cheeks are going inward like a slim face.It has 3 longitudinal ridges. Here at the back of head anterior horn ( coracoid process is present).

Second half face : this face horn arises from the forehead and travels backwards. This horn is so close to the face that it attaches to the bone of head alongside. The region above posterior horn is called Supraspinous fossa and region below posterior horn is called infraspinous fossa.

Borders

Scalp is like the superior border . Between the anterior scalp and the anterior horn there is a notch called suprascapular notch (upper scalp notch).

Lateral border is the region from chin of the goat statue to the upper end of the throat of goat. At just the upper end of throat there is an infraglenoid tubercle.

Medial border is the region from forehead to the mouth.

Angles

  • Neck corner ( lateral/glenoid angle)
  • Forehead corner (superior angle)
  • Chin corner (inferior angle)

Processes

Anterior horn ( Posterior horn ( spine of scapula and acromion ) Scalp is the Mouth is the inferior angle
