Soul dualism
- physical soul ( remains with the body during death )
- spiritual soul ( which leaves the body after death )

MYSTIC ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
- Karana sarira – causal body ( anandmaya kosha or blissful body )
  - Karana sarira or the causal body is merely the cause or seed of the subtle body and the gross body
    - Zygote or embryo
      - It is nirvikalpa rupam, “undifferentiated form”
      - It originates with avidya, “ignorance” or “nescience” of the real identity of the atman
- Sukshma sarira or the subtle body is the body of the mind and the vital energies
  - it is the transmigrating soul or jiva,
    - separating from the gross body upon death.
  - it is the cognitive body which includes
    - cognitive senses
    - cognitive muscles
    - mind
  - it is composed of three veils or covers ( MAYA )
    - Pranamaya Kosha (Vital breath or Energy),
    - Manomaya Kosha (Mind and five senses),
    - Vijnanamaya Kosha (Intellect)
- Sthula sarira – gross body ( vegetative body ) OR Annamaya kosha ( food body veil or sheath )
  - Karmas of past life
  - sambhava (birth),
  - jara (old age or ageing)
  - maranam (death), and
  - the “waking state”.
  - it is Anātman“ which is different from atman” or “non-self”
